Plymptoons - Bill Plympton. Because he could use the publicity and because this photograph deserves to be seen. That is, in fact, the godfather of independent animation’s left eye and that is a five-pointed star in it. This image has not been Photoshopped, only cropped. Amazing.
Twins Are Weird - Let there be no doubt. Joy and Noelle Vaccese are couple of twin animators based here in the only city that matters. Having consulted on their film “The Scritch-Scratch of Busy Little Hands,” I can vouch for their weirdness.
Sean McBride - Sean’s a former colleague on to bigger and better things. He’s the creator of Salon.com’s hilarious Tony Cartoons. Also, an animator/director who manages to be maybe the nicest guy on the planet. WTF, Sean? Animators are hunchbacked, snaggletoothed misanthropes. Way to wreck the curve, dick.
Tony Curanaj - Tony’s a real artist. Go look at his stuff and curse yourself for wasting your time even trying to draw or paint. He’s teaching me to draw and making me more metal.
